The defendant, Michael William Daniels, was convicted by a jury of four counts of robbery, Class A felonies, Ind. Code Â§ 35-42-5-1 (Burns 1979 Repl.), one count of attempted robbery, a Class A felony, Ind. Code Â§ 35-41-5-1, Â§ 35-42-5-1 (Burns 1979 Repl.), and one count of felony murder, Ind. Code Â§ 35-42-1-1 (2) (Burns 1979 Repl.). The jury recommended a sentence of death for the felony murder count, Ind. Code Â§ 35-50-2-9 (Burns 1979 Repl.), and defendant was thereafter sentenced to four twenty-year terms of imprisonment and one fifty-year term, all to run consecutively, and death.
